Marijuana, prescription pills, and brass knuckles found after Bedford traffic stop

Three men and a woman faces drug charges after a traffic stop last Friday in Bedford.
At 9:45 a.m., officers assigned to the Central Quick Response Unit conducted a traffic stop on Duke Street in Bedford. The driver and both passengers were arrested at the scene and a search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a quantity of marijuana, prescription pills, and brass knuckles. A subsequent search of a residence in the 6800 block of Regent Road in Halifax yielded a quantity of marijuana, prescription drugs, cash, drug paraphernalia, and a prohibited knife. A man was also arrested at the scene without incident
An 18-year-old man is charged with two counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of a prohibited weapon. An 18-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman are charged with one count each of possession of drugs. The 48-year old man arrested at the residence is facing two counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of a prohibited weapon. They were all released from custody and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date.

The Quick Response Unit is an important part of the Halifax Regional Police crime reduction strategy, with a separate unit for each of our three divisions.
