Media Advisory: RCMP announces new provincial media relations officer, Dartmouth, N.S.

The Nova Scotia RCMP Strategic Communications Unit is bidding farewell to Provincial Media Relations Officer (MRO), Sgt. Alain LeBlanc today. Cst. Mark Skinner will take over the role on Monday, July 20.

The Nova Scotia RCMP Strategic Communications Unit is bidding farewell to Provincial Media Relations Officer (MRO), Sgt. Alain LeBlanc today. Cst. Mark Skinner will take over the role on Monday, July 20.

Born and raised in Halifax, Cst. Skinner joined the RCMP over eight years ago and has worked in Eskasoni and Traffic Services. Nova Scotians may recognize him given the countless interviews he has conducted over the years related to his expertise in road safety and Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS). ‘This is an exciting opportunity and I truly look forward to representing the RCMP,’ says Cst. Skinner.

After three years in the role of Provincial Media Relations Officer, Sgt. Alain LeBlanc is headed to the Halifax Stanfield International Airport (HSIA) as HSIA RCMP Commander.

‘Being the voice of the RCMP for the province has been a most rewarding opportunity,’ says Sgt. LeBlanc. ‘During my time as MRO, I had the privilege of sharing the great work being done by our employees everyday.’

Sgt. LeBlanc adds ‘I have also enjoyed working with reporters from across the province and want to thank them for their tremendous support.’

The Nova Scotia RCMP thanks Sgt. Alain LeBlanc for his years of dedicated service in the role of Provincial Media Relations Officer and wishes him well in his new post.
