A 29-year-old man was found unresponsive in his cell at the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility in Dartmouth on Monday, Sept. 10.
Staff immediately began CPR and contacted Emergency Health Services when the man was found at about 9:30 p.m. He was transported and admitted to the Dartmouth General Hospital, where he remains.
Halifax Regional Police are investigating. The Department of Justice will conduct an internal investigation and provide updates as new information becomes available.
