Merry Listmas from Mel, of the other Joel Plaskett song title blog

Mel: Dudes. When the fine ladies of FPQT asked me to put together a holiday wish list to share with you I won’t lie, I was pretty stoked. One, the FPQT ladies rock. Seriously hard. And two, DUH! Fantasy Christmas list?! All over that like Oprah on cake.

This year, the holidays will be a bit different for a number of reasons. My primary thing about this Christmas was that I don’t want/need any more stuff. I have so much stuff that I don’t know what to do with it. I was pushing hard to forgo all presents and instead pool our Xmas money to go on a trip to sunny Phoenix to visit my aunt and uncle. My parents weren’t buying what I was selling, unfortunately. I think this means I’m growing up or something. No presents? Who says that?! Anyway… This list, while a fantasy list (seriously, a $650 watch?!) is also  a practical list of things that I could actually use.

Without further adieu, less talky more looky:

1. Steve Madden Cablee Boots

source

Seriously. How bad ass are these boots?! The answer? SUPREMELY BADASS. Don’t believe me? Just check out the sick blue stripe on the back. I know right? These are available at Kick Ass Shoes here in the Halishizzle.

2. Marc Jacobs Bag

source

I don’t want this bag per se (ok, I totally do, but..) but I would really like to have a nice, high quality, oversized black leather purse. Something nice and timeless that isn’t going to start to peel after 6 months of use. (I’m looking at you cheap Forever 21 purse…)

3. Roots- “Cape Breton” Sweater

source

The fact that this is entitled the “Cape Breton” sweater is kind of hilarious- ain’t nobody from Cape Breton be payin $150 for a sweater. I digress. This sweater just looks so incredibly comfortable and warm.

4.  Fresh Prince Migratory Pattern Print

source
Do I even need to explain why this is awesome?
5.  Solair Chair

source

A while ago I decided that I was going to finally make the move and leave Halifax for greener Torontonian pastures. In preparation of this, I started selling off a lot of my stuff. Including a lot of my furniture.  Then I had a change of heart. The result? I’m seriously short on seating. Anywhoo- I have always loved these chairs. You can get them at Attica. Who knew?! These are technically “outdoor” chairs. But I think they would look pretty rad in my living room.

6. Tiffany Key Necklace

source

First off- funny story. When I did the google image search for an image of these beauties the number one result (and where I lifted this pic) was from none other than FPQT. Well played ladies, well played. Anyway, I have a weird obsession with skeleton keys and silver jewelry. So these are pretty much the perfect pieces of jewelry.

7.  OPI Nail Polish

source

I remember the first time I quit serving, one of the things I was most excited about was that I could wear nail polish all the time. Well, I’ve since quit serving about 387268 more times, but I’m still really excited that I can always wear nail polish. OPI is generally out of my price range (Joe Fresh what?!) but I love pretty much every shade that exists.

8.  Nixon Oversized watch

source

I go through phases of wearing watches. Currently, I am in an off phase of wearing a time piece and have been for awhile. I usually manage to be relatively on time, so I’m not worried about it. However, if I had this watch? I would wear the shit out of it. Alas, both my incredibly small wrists (seriously, I can wear kids’ jewelry.) and the fact that this watch is $650 means that I will likely keep on keepin’ on sans time piece.

9.  Molly Maid

source

Ok this last item isn’t really something tangible (I don’t want to own Molly Maids, I would just like them to visit my apartment). By the time I work a 40 hour (sometimes more) work week, attempt to go to yoga, cook for myself and watch bad TV, cleaning is the last thing I want to do. This is not to say I wallow in my own filth, but cleaning my apartment has about as much priority as rearranging my sock drawer. So if these lovely ladies (or dudes, I don’t care) could make a weekly visit to my apartment to pick up the piles of cat fur and scrub my tub, that would be amazing.

L-A: the best part about Listmas? I get other people giving me ideas for my list. So, I pretty much want most of what Mel asked for added to my list. Even the Solair chairs. I have two vintage solairs, but I could use more.
