HRM Release:

(Thursday, Sept.16, 2010) Halifax, NS – Metro Transit employees will
participate in tomorrow’s Jersey Day event being held nationally to
rally support for Sports Day in Canada being celebrated on Saturday,
September 18.

On Friday, September 17, Canadians from coast to coast are being asked
to show their support and love for sport by wearing a jersey from their
favourite sports team or club to school, work or play.

As part of HRM’s strong support for this event, many of Metro
Transit’s 500 employees including bus operators plan to get onboard by
wearing a jersey tomorrow to show their pride for sport in the HRM
community.

Canadians across the country will have the opportunity to submit photos
of their unique Jersey Day experience and send to CBC Sports for a
chance to be featured on the Sports Day in Canada national CBC broadcast
on September 18.  For more information on this event, to register or
