Tuesday, December 17, 2013 - Metro Transit is pleased to offer its annual free designated driver service on New Year’s Eve.

Tuesday, December 17, 2013 – Metro Transit is pleased to offer its annual free designated driver service on New Year’s Eve.

This year’s free service will also support Mothers Against Drunk Drivers’ (MADD) Halifax Regional Chapter. While residents take the ferry or bus for free, they’ll have the opportunity to support MADD by making a donation at various points and receiving a red ribbon.

Starting at 6 p.m. on December 31st, all Metro Transit bus, ferry and Access-A-Bus service will be free to the public until the end of the service day (excluding MetroLink and Metro X). Also, some of Metro Transit’s most popular routes and the Alderney harbour ferry service will have extended hours.

New Year’s Eve free service will include:

6:00 p.m. – 2 a.m. (check schedules for last trip times)

6:00 p.m. – 1:45 a.m. (last departure from Halifax)
