I bought two shades of Milani Color Statement lip liners on clearance for a few bucks at Lawtons before going on vacation.

They are 07 Brandy and 10 Cocoa. Besides the fact that I am embracing the dark/ brown lip trend, I decided on these 2 shades for particular reasons:
– Brandy is the perfect liner to pair with Maybelline creamy matte lipstick in Touch of Spice
– Cocoa is rumoured to be the same colour as Lime Crime Velvetine in Salem (different finish).

I already owned 02 True Red from the Color Statement lip liner line, which goes well with a few MAC famous red lipsticks, so I trust the quality replicates in Brandy and Cocoa. They are creamy, easy to apply and don’t feather on me.

Since I have been wearing Touch of Spice so often, Brandy got its fair share as well. Cocoa is saved to tone down Siren in Scarlet (another Maybelline creamy matte lipstick) when I don’t want a strong red lip.

They swatch pretty true to colours too. Brandy (right) is leaning more purple while Cocoa (left) is more brown, equally pigmented. If you haven’t owned some Milani Color Statement lip liners, get some 🙂
