Military items stolen during break-in

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a break and enter that occurred in Halifax last week where military equipment was taken.

On April 5 at approximately 3:45 a.m. officers responded to a break and enter that had just occurred at an apartment building in the 5600 block of Roberts Street in Halifax. The suspects entered the parking garage and broke into tenants’ storage lockers in the building. Building staff confronted the suspects and they fled the area on foot.

One of the suspects was located in the area a short time later and arrested after a brief struggle. The 40-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face one count each of break and enter and resisting arrest.

Among the items taken was a military style tactical vest, containing ballistic plates.

Police are looking to identify two more suspects. One is described as a white woman approximately 5’4” tall, 120 lbs., wearing grey sweatpants, a black raincoat, and a baseball hat. The other is described as a white man, approximately 5’8” tall, 150 lbs., wearing a black puffy jacket, a grey hooded sweatshirt, and black pants.
