Natural Resources Minister Lloyd Hines is taking a brief leave of absence from his ministerial duties to tend to a personal health issue.
“On the advice of my physician, I’ve been encouraged to temporarily step away from my busy schedule as minister so that I can address a medical matter,” said Mr.
Hines. “While my health must be my priority at this time, I’m eager to get back on the job just as soon as I am able.”
Premier Stephen McNeil said he, too, is looking forward to Mr. Hines returning to health, and to work, in the not-too-distant future.
“As a valuable member of both caucus and executive council, Lloyd’s contributions will be missed while he and his family focus on his well-being at this time,” said Premier McNeil. “Lloyd and Patricia will have the support of his colleagues and friends until he’s back up to full strength again.”
Municipal Affairs Minister Zach Churchill, the former Minister of Natural Resources, will serve as acting minister.
