Minister Requests Conciliation Services

Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development Karen Casey today, Nov. 17, asked for the conciliation officer to bring the bargaining teams of the province and Nova Scotia Teachers Union together again in the hopes of reaching a resolution.

“Education is a priority and we do not want to see a disruption in classrooms across the province,” said Ms. Casey. “We have said all along we will listen and work to address teachers’ concerns. We hope the union will accept our invitation to resume negotiations.”

Dec. 3 is the earliest date the union would be able to take job action.
