At 3:36 PM today – the Halifax Regional Police responded to a complaint of an assault (not in progress) at Province House located at 1724 Hollis St. in Halifax. The victim, a 65 year old male, stated that while in the washroom at Province House he was threatened and assaulted by a party known to him. A police investigation began at this time. At approximately 7:45 PM, a 65 year old male from the Windsor Junction area attended the Halifax Regional Police Headquarters building. As a result of the police investigation, this individual has been charged with Uttering Threats and Assault under the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused has been released from custody on a Promise To Appear and will appear at Halifax Provincial Court at a later date.
