MomsReading Housekeeping

It has been a little over a week since I shared with you my vision of #MomsReading, an online community of readers determined to take back those all-too-busy moments and use them to read. Your response to this group has been absolutely astounding. I am so glad that this idea is something that you have been wanting. And it has been so much fun to get to know each of you more through this group, even in such a short time.

MomsReading Housekeeping

If you missed the introduction to the #MomsReading book club and want to know more, you can read here. It is definitely not too late to participate.

Today I come to you with a couple of housekeeping items. The most exciting is the announcement of our second book that we will be reading as a group. Let’s save that to the end though.

As this group begins to take shape, I need your input. First and foremost, I am worried that I have not given you enough time to read The Secret Keeper. It is a long book and I didn’t give you any warning that a book club was coming before last week. Since this book club is not supposed to add more stress to your life, I am wondering if you would appreciate an extra month to read it?

Secondly, I need some help in determining the best place and time for our monthly group chats.

With that being said, could you please fill out the form below for me? Your answers will help put the finishing touches on this book club. The form will be live until the end of Wednesday, February 13th. If the survey is hard to read in this blog post, please access it full-screen using this link.

THANK YOU!

Now, the part you’ve all been waiting for!

Once we finish The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton, we will be reading…

The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman

MomsReading Housekeeping

I have been reading this book and it is absolutely incredible. I can hardly put it down to write this blog post. It will definitely resonate with all the mothers participating in this group.

(Very important note: This book could be a trigger for anyone who has dealt with miscarriages or loss of a child. Please give yourself permission to not read this book if you think that this will affect you negatively).

Now that we’ve taken care of everything, I’m really excited to hear what you’re thinking of The Secret Keeper so far? Let me know in the comments!

Remember to connect with this group in other places using the #MomsReading hashtag on Twitter and Instagram, Liking the Moms Reading Facebook page, and joining the #MomsReading Goodreads group.
