Monday Shoe Porn: 41 Krisp Shoes

L-A: It’s Monday and that means…shoe porn!  Can I just say how awesome it is that y’all are participating in shoe porn? Because you are. It’s so much fun to get to see everyone’s shoes. It almost makes me look forward to Mondays.

Today’s shoes are courtesy of Krista P. (hence the Krisp).  Both Ally and I know her, but totally separate of one another (I don’t think the three of us have ever been in the same room together). This is the kind of small city we live in folks. Anyway, you’re not here for my talking, you’re here for the shoes. So enjoy! (As with last week, captions for each pair of shoes were written by the shoe’s owners).

Modern Vintage (Unicorn): Great alternative to basic black. Again, love MV! MC & Power (Comfort Zone): I call these "gangster shoes" because they seem, to me anyway, like something from the 1930s. Aldo: I love wedge heels. When I worked at the Legislature, I would run up-and-down multiple flights of stairs in these bad boys. Biviel (Fanatic Footwear): More than a basic black shoe. Round toe and flower detail = totally cute. Nine West (Nine West Ottawa): I bought these in Ottawa after seeing them at KAS. 6 months later, they were still full-price at KAS. Just saying. MC & Power (Comfort Zone): I've had these for about 5 years and always get compliments. Can walk for hours in them, too! Nine West (Nine West Ottawa): Black suede, with Prada "influenced" elastic. Might be the closest I get to Prada shoes. ?? (Winners): Gold, metallic, ankle strap. A good NYE or wine festival shoe. Carlos Santana (Fanatic Footwear): Fun, not terribly comfortable. Aldo: Teal suede with jewelled embellishment. Just really terrific-looking. Tsubo (KAS): Made by sneaker people, wickedly comfortable. Actually more of an orangey-red colour. ?? (Winners): Pinky-brown t-straps, just kind of cute. Aldo: My first d'Orsay heels - 1 of 2 favourite shoe styles. El Naturalista (Frozen Ocean RIP): Pretty groovy. I don't wear them often because they're a teensy bit small, but they're too great to give away. Blay (Fanatic Footwear): Cute, flat, leather soles (I love leather sole shoes), good for weekends. Biviel (Fanatic Footwear): Cute, flat, go well with jeans. Steve Madden (Biscuit): Badass motorcycle boots to frighten civil servants. Can walk for hours in them, too. Nine West (KAS): Stretchy tall boots that fit around monstrous calves. Wine colour which is a nice option. Tsubo (KAS): Originally purchased to walk back and forth to work. Super comfortable, cool as hell, and purple. Reiker (John David): One of my rare John David purchases. Comfy walking around shoes for trip to NYC. Betsey Johnson (Winners): Cute, pink, flowery. Great summer office shoe. Oh Deer! (Shoe Company): These appeared at the beginning of the Louboutin-inspired era. Terribly uncomfortable, but they look terrific. Modern Vintage (Winners): I love MV shoes, but I'm way too cheap to pay full price. Halé Bob (Winners): Black cherry coloured with a cool-looking heel. I got them for $30 at Winners and checked online afterwards. They were still $200 at Nordstorm. Miss Albright (Anthropologie): I went to NYC in search of these purple ombre d'Orsay heels. Really comfortable for platforms. Love these. Franco Sarto (Winners): Snazzy brown shoe, pointy-toe to show 'em who's boss. El Naturalista (Fanatic Footwear): Fun, red, made of recycled stuff. Blay (Fanatic Footwear): General purpose brown shoe that's not as boring as a brown shoe could be. Carlos Santana (Fanatic Footwear): Not the comfiest, but great bright green colour. Nine West (Nine West Ottawa): "Nude" colour makes your legs look about a million miles long. If you know me, you know this sort of illusion is necessary. Carlos Santana (Fanatic Footwear): Super cute for summer, I've had them for years and always get compliments. Doc Martens: Everyone else posts their Docs, here are mine. Super-thick soles, heavy, great in rain. Flamenco (Brio): I take flamenco and greatly enjoy these bitchen shoes with nails in them. Not suitable for hardwood floors. Steve Madden (StyleSense - Winners accessory store in TO): I drooled over these at KAS and waited a year for them to finally put them on sale. Then, one weekend in TO, I found them for a fraction of the price. I stridently oppose KAS' practice of putting last season's on the shelves at full price and pretending they're new. Modern Vintage (Winners): Cute, metallic, shiny. ?? (Winners): My first knee-high boots. Great for walking and being generally badass. Biviel (Footwear Fanatic RIP): Green, mid-calf. Look wicked with black tights and skirt. I love Biviel shoes, I wish someone else would carry them. Børn (Comfort Zone): Reminds me of cowboy boots. Great for walking to work. Kenneth Cole Reaction (Shoe Company): Despite the anti-gladiator tone of FPQT, I love these shoes. They're super-comfortable and look totes badass at a civil servant meeting. FitFlops (that place in Spring Garden Place): Not purchased for butt-toning properties, but terribly comfortable for summer walking to work. Only shoe purchase ever approved by my chiropractor. Joseph Seibel (Winners): Against all natural inclinations, purchased for recent trip to Europe. They're called "European Comfort Shoes," and rightly so. Also three-toned with metallic leather. Groovy.

It’s true, we are anti-Gladiator around here (at least I am), but I can support gladiator sandals being worn to a meeting of civil servants. It’s almost like wearing them to some kind of gladiator battle, except without the spectators (because they’re probably not nearly as much fun to watch if you were a spectator). Also, judging by the number of fantastic heels that Krista owns, it’s no wonder that the only pairs her chiropractor approves of are the fit flops.

Remember, we’re always taking submissions for shoes. Don’t let the size of previous collections stop you. We want to see your collection if there are seven pairs or seventy pairs. Also, we’re not stuck on the label of your shoes. It’s fun to see, but you don’t need designer shoes. Most of us who have scored designer shoes have done so at a discount at places like DSW, Marshalls/Winners/TJ Maxx (all the same sort of place), or second hand.  (If Flickr isn’t your bag, you can always email us at FashionablePeople [at] gmail.com).
