Monday Shoe Porn: Ivy owns Prada & 28 other pairs

L-A: I was beginning to think that we’d never get shoe submissions again. While I missed seeing what other people have in their closets,  I didn’t exactly miss the formatting on Sundays – so I guess it was a nice break.  Our first set of shoes since that unofficial break is from Ivy. We’re big Ivy fans – and that has nothing to do with her bringing us a box of wine for our birthday (although, El Jeffe was a big fan of the boxed wine, so it could be why he likes Ivy).

Ivy’s relationship with her shoes is a lot like my own. Here’s how she describes it:

I have a love/hate relationship with fashionable shoes. They give me blisters; they scrunch my toes until they are numb; they make me teeter and stumble. Yet, I still can’t resist a beautiful pair of shoes or boots. But ultimately, I’d rather be barefoot on my yoga mat.

I feel her pain. I’ve been blistered up lately because I’m not wearing socks in my shoes. I wear those mini-sockette things to prevent really stinky shoes – but they don’t provide the same coverage as a pair of tights or socks do and so I’m starting my summer of ballerina feet.

But we’re not here to talk about my shoes or my feet. We’re here to look at Ivy’s shoes. So here they are:

I don’t feel bad for the snake that was used to make the Jimmy Choos. I could never wear those shoes because I am horribly terrified/creeped out by snakes. Since they do strike terror in my heart, I’m okay that there is one less snake in the world so that Ivy can have cute shoes. (PETA hate mail is going to start in 3…2…1…). I do like her Pradas. And not just because they’re Prada, but because they also happen to be super cute. I’d remortgage my house for cute shoes (except, I rent, so it’s not an option). I also love the Camper boots and the lavendar XOXO shoes. And I like that Ivy shops at one of my favourite shoe stores in Halifax – Comfort Zone. The name is misleading. You think it would be all orthopaedic shoes, but no! It is a lot of cute shoes. (Was that an actual shout out to Jerri Blank? Is she reading our blog? If so: hi! call us and we’ll do crafts if you’re still in town!)
