Motor vehicle collision involving man in wheelchair

Sipekne’katik RCMP is investigating a collision involving a pedestrian.

On July 19, at approximately 9:45 p.m., Sipekne’katik RCMP, fire and EHS responded to a report of a collision on Church St. in Sipekne’katik. RCMP officers learned a Toyota Tundra struck a man in a wheelchair who was travelling on the roadway in the same direction as the truck; the 40-year-old Sipekne’katik man suffered minor injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS.

At this time, investigators believe reduced visibility due to weather conditions may have been a factor.
