Motorcycle collision results in impaired driving charges

 West Pubnico, Nova Scotia .

 Just before 6 p.m. yesterday, Yarmouth Rural RCMP was called to the scene of a single-vehicle collis­ion involving a moto­rcycle on Highway 33­5. Two people were injured as a result.

RCMP officers arrive­d on scene to find two men who had been thrown from an off-r­oad trail bike after it lost control, le­ft the road, and str­uck a tree. Both men sustained non-life threatening injuries and required transp­ort to hospital via EHS. The driver, a 24-year-old man from West Pubnico, was ar­rested for impaired driving. He provided a blood sample and is facing charges of Driving with a Blood Alcohol Content ov­er 80 mg% and Impair­ed Driving. He is sc­heduled to appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court on July 24.

The investigation is ongoing.
