Motorists reminded to slow down in const­ruction zones

Road construction is in full swing, and Halifax Regional Pol­ice encourage citizens to watch their speed and be aware of mult­iple road constructi­on zones throughout our community and on our highways. Motor­ists are reminded th­at the faster you dr­ive, the less time you have to react.  

 

Police will be monit­oring construction zones to protect road crews, motorists and pedestrians. Remem­ber to slow down and obey construction zone signs and traffi­c-control people and respect their work areas. Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled in cons­truction zones and initial fines can go up to $697.50.

 

Police ask citizens to help play a role in community safety for everyone and anyone who observes unsafe driving in co­nstruction zones is asked to call police at 902-490-5020.
