With the warmer weather finally arriving, so is road construction. Halifax Regional Police and Halifax District RCMP encourage citizens to watch their speed and be aware of multiple road construction zones throughout our community and on our highways. Motorists are reminded that the faster you drive, the less time you have to react.
Police will be monitoring construction zones to protect road crews, motorists and pedestrians. Remember to slow down and obey construction zone signs and traffic-control people and respect their work areas. Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled in construction zones and initial fines can go up to $697.50.
Partners in Policing continue to be encourage citizens to help play a role in community safety for everyone.Police ask that anyone who observes unsafe driving in construction zones to call police at 902-490-5020.
