Multi-vehicle collision results in impaired driving charges

Prior to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Halifax District RCMP responded to a multi-vehicle collision in the northbound lane on Highway 102 in Goffs.

Initial investigation determined a 2010 Mazda 6 travelling in the southbound lane crossed the median, entered the northbound lane, rolled several times while striking four vehicles, before coming to rest on its side. EHS attended and treated vehicle occupants. Their injuries were considered to be minor.

The driver of the Mazda 6, a 60-year-old man from Bedford, is facing charges for Impaired Driving Causing Bodily Harm and Impaired Operation Over 80mg% Causing Bodily Harm. He will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on July 25 at 9:30 a.m.

The investigation is continuing.
