Multiple weapons charges laid in shooting incident, Lower Sackville, N.S.

Police have laid numerous weapons-related charges following shooting incident on Jennifer Court early yesterday morning.

On Wednesday, April 22nd at approximately 12:30 a.m., Halifax District RCMP, assisted by RCMP Police Dog Services, responded to a 911 call of shots being fired on Jennifer Court.

A preliminary investigation determined that shortly after the shots were fired a male was seen running down the street and a medium sized car was observed driving away from the area. Police arrested a man a short time later.

Nineteen-year-old Dylan Alstrup of Sackville is charged with:

Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace
Careless use of a Firearm
Pointing a Firearm
Possession of a Firearm Knowing it’s Possession is Unauthorized
Possession of Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
Possession of a Weapon Obtained by the Commission of an Offence
Carrying a Concealed Weapon
Possession of a Firearm Contrary to an Order
Discharging a Firearm with Intent to Endanger Life
Breach of Recognizance x 2
Violation of an Undertaking by an Officer in Charge

The accused remains in custody. He is appearing in Dartmouth Provincial Court today.
