Municipality Bringing Recreation Activities to Residents

Tuesday, June 30, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – A new municipal mobile recreation centre hits the roads today, bringing free sports and outdoor activities to residents of all ages. The R.E.C. Van will spend the summer visiting public parks, municipal beaches, spray pads and playgrounds throughout the Halifax region, providing free recreational sports and activities to kids, families and seniors. Its first visit is at 12:15 p.m.

The R.E.C. Van will spend the summer visiting public parks, municipal beaches, spray pads and playgrounds throughout the Halifax region, providing free recreational sports and activities to kids, families and seniors. Its first visit is at 12:15 p.m.

Residents can try something new or take part in their favourite outdoor activity. The R.E.C. Van is stacked with equipment for more than 50 different activities and sports, including baseball, basketball, soccer, washer toss, giant checkers, archery, skipping and much more!

The R.E.C. Van plans to visit all corners of the Halifax region in the coming weeks to encourage physical activity and ensure more people have access to the equipment and support they need to be active, stay fit and have fun.
