My Life Is Like A Telenovela #streamteam #ad

Never a dull moment around here.

My teenage daughter is not speaking to me at the moment. You see, I made a serious error in judgment and now she can’t find it in herself to forgive me. What did I do to deserve such treatment? I cheated on her… Netflix cheated to be exact.

Yes, it’s a thing. You see, we started watching Jane the Virgin together and are both in love with the series. But the thing is… there was this one night that she was at dance class and I wasn’t feeling well so I crawled into bed with my computer to pass the time away until I felt better. But what could I watch? I didn’t want to “take on” another series and I was hoping to be asleep soon so a movie was too long. So I did. I watched ONE episode without her.

I confessed immediately when she got home, I figured she could catch up easily by the next time we were ready to watch another episode together. And that is when she stopped talking to me. Outraged that I could commit such an unimaginable offence.

But I’m glad to know I’m not the only cheater out there. Netflix recently uncovered that 46% of global viewers are cheating right now… with their favourite Netflix shows. How do Canadians stack up against their neighbours around the world? Turns out we are a little less polite than you may think, with over a third (37%) of couples streaming behind each other’s backs. See? It could be worse, I could be Netflix cheating on my husband… that wouldn’t happen, we rarely watch the same shows. (Me: Call the Midwife. Him: The Walking Dead).

So back to my insulted teen… not sure what I will do to make up for this infidelity but I hope she forgives me soon as I am missing Rogelio, Xiomara and the rest of the Jane the Virgin gang so I’m on the verge of cheating again… it’s just like a telenovela around here!
