Natural gas pipeline installation – Cogswell Street and intersection of Cogswell/North …

Friday, Nov.

29, 2013 (Halifax, NS) – As part of the ongoing natural gas main extension in the area, construction of the gas main will continue from Ahern Avenue through the intersection of Cogswell/North Park/Ahern/Trollope and along Cogswell Street to Gottingen Street.

Work is expected to begin in the intersection as early as Monday, Dec. 2. The work within the intersection will take place between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. The work area setups will be phased to minimize the impact on traffic. It is also expected traffic signals will remain operational during the construction. The work in the intersection is expected to take two to three days.

Following the work in the intersection, the construction will move to Cogswell Street. Work on Cogswell will also take place between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. During the construction on Cogswell, the road will be open to one-way traffic only. Eastbound traffic (from North Park Street toward Gottingen Street) will be permitted, but westbound traffic (from Gottingen Street to North Park Street) will be detoured between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Work on Cogswell Street is expected to take one to two weeks.

Motorists should expect delays in the area and are encouraged to use alternative routes. Heritage Gas and HRM apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
