Natural Gas Pipeline Installation – Robie Street

Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists that work will begin tomorrow (Friday) to extend the natural gas main on Robie Street between South Street and University Avenue.

The pipe installation and subsequent restoration is expected to take approximately two weeks. Lane drops will be in place, but a minimum of one lane in each direction is expected to be maintained for most of the construction project.

This work will require the traffic signals at the South and Robie streets intersection to be shut off for one or two days. No work will take place between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. or from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Parking will be restricted on the west side of Robie Street.

Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Heritage Gas and the municipality apologize in advance for any inconvenience this work may cause.
