Natural Gas Pipeline Installation – Summer Street & Spring Garden Road

Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that work will begin work on Thursday, Dec. 11, to extend the natural gas main at the intersection of Summer Street and Spring Garden Road in Halifax.

The pipe installation and subsequent restoration work is expected to take approximately one week. Work will begin daily at 9 a.m. and there will be no work during peak traffic, from 4-6 p.m.

Lane drops will be in place; however, crews expect that a minimum of one lane in each direction will be maintained for most of the construction. The traffic signals at the intersection are also expected to remain in operation at all times and access to businesses and homes in the area will be accommodated.

Motorists should expect some delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible. Heritage Gas and the municipality apologize in advance for any inconvenience this work may cause.
