Nautical Stripe Challenge Day 5: Favourite Friday

L-A: So, zero inspiration today.  I was just looking for a cute outfit that involves stripes. Here it is:

More boats! And a view of Dartmouth’s working harbour! Scenic, n’est pas? (Sorry Dartmouth, I know you have pretty spots).

No boat socks this time. I do own another pair – with blue boats on them – but they really didn’t go with the outfit (the boat socks came in a package of nautically themed socks at Joe Fresh. Of course I bought them). Only small humiliations today since it was the last ferry of the day, but the only other person on the top deck was laughing at me.   Let’s do an outfit break down:

– nautical stripes: J.Crew, bought in April

– jeans: old Lucky Brand, bought from Costco! Seriously. I own pants from Costco. I’m not sure I should admit that.

– shoes: Joe Fresh, more cute than comfy (just ask my aching toes).

– jacket: Reitmans via J.Lau. I actually wore that during my horrible audition to be host of Fashion File. That audition still fills me with embarrassment cringes.

– jewellery: bangle from I can’t remember where (possibly Mexx), brooch and mimiBe necklace are both from Love, Me.

The next two days are going to be the real challenge. I’m down to my last few shirts and I’m running out of creative ideas.  I’ll come up with something, but if you happen to have an idea, I’m all ears. Or maybe you know what my inspiration was for the above outfit. I’m sure I was inspired by something…I just can’t think of what.

And now for some favourites. I’m sad to say that one of my favourites on ANTM is gone.

I’m sorry to see you go Rhianna! You looked like Liz Phair to me and you seemed genuninely lovely.

Seperated at birth? (well, give or take twenty years)

Also, even though your photo wasn’t exciting, you didn’t make excuses like Liz (another contestant, not Phair) did. Top Models don’t make excuses. Not if they want to be in Vogue EE-Tah-LEE-Ah.  At least they didn’t call you commercial. That must be a total burn to be kicked off the show and watcht he episode when it hits TV and hear yourself called commercial.

As for a video, well, I’m stumped. Let’s watch Pretend Boyfriend Mark Ronson again. Partly because I like looking at him, mostly because this song is seventeen different kinds of awesome.

Enjoy your weekend!

Thinner Thursday and BAM!
