Allan Eddy has been appointed the new associate deputy minister of the Department of Natural Resources.
Mr. Eddy, currently an executive director in the department, has an extensive background in the forestry industry.
“Mr. Eddy’s understanding of the forestry sector will help government make the innovative changes needed in this important industry as we maximize economic opportunities,” said Premier Stephen McNeil.
Mr. Eddy has worked in the Nova Scotia civil service since 2008 and was the provincial co-lead for the response to the Bowater mill closure.
A graduate from University of New Brunswick, Mr. Eddy also worked with the Canadian Forestry Service for 12 years and the federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans for four years.
Mr. Eddy’s appointment is effective April 28.
