Innovacorp announced the appointment of two new members to its board of directors today, Nov. 9.
The new appointments are David Wilson, president of Wilsons Security, and Dawn Umlah, chief operating officer of Spring Loaded Technology.
“I have worked with many early stage growth companies, and I look forward to helping Innovacorp build on the existing momentum in the Nova Scotia startup community,” said Mr. Wilson. “It’s an exciting time to be involved with Innovacorp for the great work they do for technology innovation and entrepreneurship.”
Mr. Wilson has extensive venture capital experience as an early stage investor and board member. Prior to becoming the president of Wilsons Security, he worked in the venture capital industry since the start of his career in 1993, when he joined TA Associates. He has been a member of Innovacorp’s investment committee since October 2011.
Ms. Umlah is a proven company builder. She brings extensive experience in assisting startups and small, growing companies in the technology sectors. She has held leadership roles with more than 15 high-growth technology companies and several venture-backed companies. From 2013 to 2016, Ms. Umlah was an investment manager and entrepreneur in residence at Innovacorp.
