3, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality wants to remind residents to come out to the public engagement session on the North Park Intersection Redesign project that was rescheduled to Wednesday, Feb. 5.
The meeting was cancelled last week due to bad weather but is scheduled to go ahead from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Halifax Forum, 6209 Almon St., in the Maritime Hall building.
HRM recognizes that there is more snow in the forecast, so in the event the meeting needs to be cancelled again, it will be held at the same time and location on Thursday, Feb. 6. A public service announcement will go out, as well as updates on Twitter via @hfxgov, if the Wednesday meeting is cancelled.
Right now forecasts say a low-pressure system is developing on the eastern seaboard that will likely hit Nova Scotia midday Wednesday in the form of a Nor’easter. The storm is expected to bring heavy, blowing snow mixed with ice pellets, with predicted snowfall of about 15 centimetres.
This week’s meeting is the second public engagement session on the North Park Intersection Redesign project. Staff members are planning to unveil the first round of design drawings and gather feedback on opportunities for active transportation, outdoor art and new public spaces.

Feedback will be accepted online up until Feb. 14.
