My go-to piece of baby gear that always comes along with us is the Ergo. We’ve been a fan ever since we first purchased ours in 2007. My husband and I wanted something that we could both use and quickly swap a baby in and out of when one of us needed a break, that was easily adjustable with a buckles and that was *actually* comfortable for long periods of time for travel and walks. I couldn’t even tell you how many miles our original carrier has on it! Ours is a gender neutral khaki color which is perfect for sharing with hubs, but I’ve always been a little bit jealous of the beautiful prints that stood out on other baby carriers.
I’ve watched the ErgoBaby brand grow and change over the years, and I don’t think I’ve been this excited about one of their new prints as I am with the new Petunia Pickle Bottom collection. GORGEOUS. And organic.
Sadly my little guy Ethan is dealing with some separation anxiety but baby wearing is working. I noticed that since I’ve been wearing him around a little more in the house, he’s feeling more comfortable letting me out of his sight. And to be honest even I need that physical bond and touch as much as baby Ethan does sometimes…it’s good for the soul, especially when there are kisses and tickles involved to make everyone laugh:
ERGObaby’s carrier design supports a natural sitting position for babies, eliminating compression of the spine and hips that can be caused by unsupported suspension. The baby carrier also balances the baby’s weight to parents’ hips and shoulders, and alleviates physical stress for the parent. Ethan is 35lbs now and yes little man gets heavy on me after a while if he’s on my back. But on my front we’re most comfortable for longer periods and it’s probably because the weight distribution feels very similar to having a preggy belly (without the aches and pains part). So naturally I love the feeling and coziness of the front carry!
There are 3 Petunia prints to choose from (all organic) and since I wear a lot of black so I’m loving my “Evening in Innsbruck” black/grey design! See the other print options here. Keep in mind if your little one is less than 4 months old, you’ll want to have the Heart2Heart infant insert to keep their tiny neck secure and to help remove any unnecessary pressure on their little body. To purchase, you always have the online option but there are also a ton of retailers who carry Ergo – here’s the list of stores in Canada just enter your province and city.
