Some provincial ferry services cancelled due to Hurricane Fiona (Sep 22 12:10pm report)

Release:

Northumberland Ferries Limited and Bay Ferries Limited continue to monitor the marine weather forecast and conditions for Thursday, September 22 through to Sunday, September 25 as Hurricane Fiona tracks offshore up the Atlantic coast.

It is highly likely that wave heights and wind speeds will exceed our companies’ operational limits for
safety, passenger comfort, and safe docking of vessels.

As a result, we would like to advise our customers of the following schedule changes:

• The CAT high-speed ferry service between Yarmouth NS and Bar Harbor ME has been
cancelled for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
• MV Confederation and MV Saaremaa 1 service between Wood Islands PE and Caribou Nova
Scotia may be disrupted on Friday and all Saturday sailings are cancelled.
• MV Fundy Rose service between Saint John NB and Digby NS is cancelled for Saturday.

If your reservation is affected by the weather, we will contact you to rearrange your travel.
Any changes to schedules will also be posted on our website at https://www.ferries.ca/.
Our priority is ensuring the safety of our passengers and crew. We apologize for any inconvenience.
