No charges after death at home care facility, Halifax, N.S.

RCMP will not be laying any criminal charges after a death investigation at a home care facility in Lower Sackville.

On May 15th, RCMP were called to a home care facility on Memory Lane.

Police learned that on May 11th, a 28-year-old male resident had pushed a 56-year-old male resident. As a result of the push and fall with other pre-existing conditions, the victim ended up in hospital in life-threatening condition. Sadly, the victim, Gordon Longphee, passed away in hospital on May 17th.

The death was deemed a homicide however due to the 28-year old male’s inability to form intent, there will be no charges.
