Pumpkin Spice Pancakes = genius.
Easy peasy, too.
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp sugar
- dash pumpkin spice
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp butter, melted.
- 1/2 cup pumpkin
- 1/2 cup almond breeze
Makes 8 small pancakes.
The toasted pecans were a nice touch.
This morning I WI’d and I’m up 0.4 lbs. I still consider this past week a success because of the above mentioned accomplishments. I’m not upset about the WI either because it’s that time of the month AND I had a salty meal for dinner last night. Both of which, I’m sure, effected the the number on the scale this morning.
I have decided not to let numbers bother me any more. Whether it be the number on the scale, the number on my clothing tag or the numbers shown when tracking my points. Yes, numbers do mean something but certainly not everything.
The other thing that I’m not going to do any more is set very specific goals for myself. While this might work for some people, I’m realizing now that it does not work for me. I set up goals like the 30 day shred or being a certain number on the scale by this date, cave under the pressure and then feel worse.
I feel like I’ve finally come around to a place where I can lose weight again. I’ve got all the tools that I need in place and am putting in the effort. Going to make a dent in the Intuitive Eating book this week and really just listen to my body.
That being said, I’m going to follow Krissie’s lead and hide the scale until my birthday – December 6th. I’m going to continue along as is. My only objectives are to:
- Develop a better relationship with myself by listening to my emotions and sorting them out as they come along. This includes writing them down or talking them out with family/friends.
- Eat when I’m hungry/use food as fuel
- Exercise because it makes me feel great
Somewhere along the line I seemed to have lost faith and trust in myself and that’s what I’m hoping to find again.
