Residents who live along part of Purcells Cove Road in Halifax will no longer have to worry about the Halifax Regional Municipality installing unwanted water and sewer lines in their area.
On Tuesday night, Halifax regional council voted unanimously not to move those services into the area of Purcells Cove Road between Oceanview Drive to Fergusons Cove Road — known as Area 2 by residents who were fighting the proposed plan.
“Clearly the residents in the area under a number of different scenarios either did not want or did not need central services. So that’s what the motion did tonight — set them at ease,” said Coun. Steve Adams.
