Nomination deadline extended to Dec. 18 for 2015 Volunteer Awards

Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – Do you know a dedicated individual or group deserving of recognition for their extraordinary volunteer contributions in our community? The Halifax Regional Municipality is currently seeking nominations for its 2015 Volunteer Awards program, an annual program that puts a spotlight on residents that have made a difference in our communities by donating their time and skills to deliver various programs and services.

Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – Do you know a dedicated individual or group deserving of recognition for their extraordinary volunteer contributions in our community? The Halifax Regional Municipality is currently seeking nominations for its 2015 Volunteer Awards program, an annual program that puts a spotlight on residents that have made a difference in our communities by donating their time and skills to deliver various programs and services.

Nominations must be submitted no later than Thursday, Dec. 18 in one of three award categories: adult, youth (ages 13-19) and community group. Detailed nomination criteria and applications can be accessed online at www.halifax.ca/volunteerservices/awards or by emailing us at hrmvolunteerservices@halifax.ca.

Successful nominees will be notified in March and will be invited to attend an awards ceremony with the Mayor and members of Regional Council in April, to coincide with National Volunteer Week, April 12-18, 2015. From those selected to receive a Volunteer Award, ten representatives will be sent on to the Provincial Volunteer Awards.
