Nominations Open for Bonjour! Awards for Excellence in French-language Services

Nova Scotians can help recognize provincial public servants who excel at making French-language services available to the Acadian and francophone community.

Nominations for the fifth annual Bonjour! Awards for Excellence in French-language Services open today, Sept.

19. The awards recognize outstanding contributions by Nova Scotia government employees to develop and deliver programs and services in French.

“The Bonjour! Awards are an excellent way to promote the hard work and dedication of Nova Scotian public servants who know the value of delivering services to the Acadian and francophone community in French,” said Laura Lee Langley, deputy minister of Communities, Culture and Heritage. “We want to promote those services by recognizing the people who make it happen.”

Members of the public and government employees can submit nominations to Acadian Affairs in three categories: Excellence in Service Delivery to the Public, Excellence in Leadership and Excellence in Program Development.

Last year, recipients were recognized for enhancing the services offered by public libraries in French, supporting the development of high quality adult literacy programs for Nova Scotia’s Acadian and francophone community, and for supporting the Employment Nova Scotia Transformation Team in serving Nova Scotia’s Acadian and francophone population.

Nominations will be evaluated by a selection committee with representatives from the Acadian and francophone community, as well as the provincial and federal public service.
