Wednesday, August 14, 2013 (Halifax, NS) – Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) is calling on non-profit community groups to submit their proposals regarding potential future use of the St.

Patrick’s Alexandra site. There is no municipal need for the property and so it is considered surplus.

Applicants have 90 days to submit their proposals. The closing date is Tuesday, November 12, 2013.

HRM staff will evaluate the submissions and bring recommendations to Regional Council which will make the decision on the future of the St. Patrick’s Alexandra site. Council will decide whether to award the property at below market value to a non-profit group or sell the property at market value.

HRM previously hosted a public consultation and information session in June, to provide the community with the opportunity to discuss and comment on future options for the St. Patrick’s Alexandra site.

The formal call for submissions, as well as background information, can be found at: http://www.halifax.ca/shapeyourcity.
