Northwest Arm Seawall – Noise Bylaw Exemption

Friday, June 9, 2017 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents in and around the Northwest Arm area that continuing maintenance at the seawall will require contractors to begin work each day next week (starting Tuesday), earlier than normally allowed under the Noise Bylaw (N-200). Crews have been granted an earlier start time of 5 a.m. due to the need to work around the tides. The noise heard by nearby residents should be minimal. The bylaw allows a noise exemption as long as contractors give written notification to residents within a 100-foot radius of the worksite. This notification has to be delivered at least 48 hours before work is scheduled to begin. The municipality appreciates your patience while this work is underway. Source: Release
