No matter how many times the tape got caught up, I’d ever so gently pull it out a little bit, straighten it out and hope our beloved VHS of Cinderella would play again just one more time….and it always did. My little sister and I would watch, rewind, watch again, rewind, sing the words even harder, dress the cat up even more ridiculous than one of the stepsister’s, all while my mom was busy in the background folding laundry and likely trying to hang on to an ounce of her sanity during the girlie squealing chaos.

Cinderella came out on VHS in 1995 when I was 11 and my sister was just over 2 and I have such warm, fuzzy feelings watching my favorite princess with my sister. Everytime I hear a Cinderelly! song I’m flooded with those nostalgic moments that Disney has planted deep in our hearts from so many years ago.

Disney Junior continues to bring happiness to families across Canada with quality entertainment, creating precious moments for little ones and their families and they’re kicking off the new year on a magical note:

• Cinderella, one of Disney’s timeless classics, premieres on Disney Junior on Saturday January 19th at 5:45pm ET….right before the series premiere of Sofia the First! But wait, there’s more! Cinderella II: Dreams Come True will premiere on Sunday January 27th at 10:15am ET. If you loved sharing your special memories of Cinderella with your child on the 19th, you won’t want to miss Cinderella II: Dreams Come True!

• Sofia The First Series Premier: Your princes and princesses can roll out the red carpet for the series premiere of Sofia The First on Saturday, January 19th at 7pm ET! Sofia has much to be thankful for this year – becoming a princess, her loving family, new friends (and let’s not forget that amazing room and wardrobe!). Your community will be excited about this event as well as the fact that they get to enjoy another all-new episode on Sunday January 27th at 11:30am ET. Sundays at 11:30am ET will become the regular time slot for the new Sofia the First series!

Sofia the First is also hosting an in-store event at select Indigo & Chapters locations on Saturday January 26th at 11am (local time)!

• The event will include:
  • A Sofia the First book reading
  • A crown colouring activity
  • The chance for your little ones to take a picture in front of the Castle of Enchancia! Bring your camera!
  • Giveaways for all guests!
