Nova Scotia exports reached a record high in 2019.
Exports totalled $6.05 billion last year, up 5.7 per cent from 2018. This reflects three years of continued increases for the province as products and markets have diversified.
“More and more customers around the world are recognizing the high quality of Nova Scotia products,” said Premier Stephen McNeil. “I want to congratulate business people across our province for their global success. We have worked hard to build strong international trade relationships and will continue those efforts.”
The largest export increases from last year were from seafood products with exports over $2.3 billion, an increase of $277 million or 13.5 per cent from 2018.
Tire shipments were up $55 million or 4.9 per cent to $1.2 billion while frozen fruit exports increased $34 million or 32 per cent to $138 million.
