RCMP in Nova Scotia is looking to share and celebrate its history as part of a #ThrowbackThursday campaign on social media.

‘I am an avid collector of memorabilia and photos that tell the history of the Force and I thought it would be great to share some of the photos collected throughout my career with Nova Scotians,’ says Assistant Commissioner Brian Brennan, Commanding Officer for RCMP in Nova Scotia. ‘Pictures can bring back fond emotions and memories and I hope citizens enjoy the photos as much as I have.’

After sifting through hundreds of pictures, beginning today Nova Scotia RCMP will share a historical photo every Thursday on social media from the Commanding Officer’s collection. Many of the photos will highlight the RCMP’s history in Nova Scotia, while others will reflect the history of the RCMP Training Academy (Depot Division) or the Royal North West Mounted Police. Pictures will be posted on the Royal Canadian Mounted in Nova Scotia Facebook page and on Twitter @RCMPNS with the hashtag #tbt.
