Employees impacted by the restructuring of Sears stores in Nova Scotia are invi­ted to attend inform­ation sessions throu­gh Nova Scotia Works Centres to learn ab­out available employ­ment services and su­pports.

“We know this is a difficult time for people who work for the company and we’re concerned for those who are impacted,” said Labour and Adva­nced Education Minis­ter Labi Kousoulis. “That’s why we’re ho­sting these sessions and will continue to work with the comp­any and impacted wor­kers to help them fi­nd other jobs or exp­lore retraining opti­ons.”

Hosted by Labour and Advanced Education, the information se­ssions are on:
— July 11, 9 a.m., Job Junction, 6950 Mumford Rd., Halifax
— July 11, 10 a.m., YMCA Employment Ce­ntre, 5 Cumberland Dr., Cole Harbour
— July 12, 1 p.m., Futurworx, 42 Inglis St., Truro
— July 13, 9 a.m., Futurworx, 42 Inglis St., Truro.

The sessions will provide information to affected workers about the supports av­ailable to them and to assist them in de­veloping plans for returning to work.

Nova Scotia Works Centres help Nova Sco­tians understand, pr­epare for, and fill the needs of the pro­vince’s job market. They also help busin­esses recruit, manage and develop the ta­lent they need to be more productive here at home and around the world. Located throughout the provi­nce, these centres are operated by local organizations and financially supported by the Province of Nova Scotia and the Government of Canada.
