Highway 102 southbound is closed as RCMP investigate a fatal collision involving a motorcycle.

At approximately 9:25 p.m., Enfield RCMP, EHS, Enfield and Elmsdale Fire Dept responded to a two-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a tractor trailer on Highway 102 southbound just north of Exit 8.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a motorcycle rider headed south lost control of his vehicle. He was then struck by a tractor trailer also headed south. The male rider from Lower Sackville was pronounced dead at the scene.

Traffic is rerouted at Exit 9 to Highway 2. A Traffic Analyst has been called and will be attending the scene.

The investigation is continuing. Police expect the southbound lane to remain closed for several hours.
