A 42-year-old woman from New Brunswick is safe after an incident at the Drysdale Falls yesterday afternoon.
At approximately 3:00 p.m. yesterday, Colchester County RCMP received a 911 call that a woman was stuck at the top of the falls and could not get down.
Emergency responders, including Tatamagouche Fire Dept and the Special Hazardous Response Unit from Truro arrived to perform a high angle rescue.
The rescue lasted approximately 90 minutes and the woman was rescued unharmed.
These falls have been frequented by thrill seekers who have attempted to jump from the cliffs to water below. The RCMP want to remind people that these dangerous stunts have resulted in several serious injuries and a fatality in 2007.
The property where the Falls are located is bordered by private property on all sides and those who cross into the area are trespassing. Colchester RCMP will be continuing patrols of the area during the summer months.
