A human rights complainant has requested a publication ban on his name at an upcoming independent public board of inquiry by the Human Rights Commission. The worker alleges racial discrimination by his employer and does not wish to be identified by the media.

A human rights complainant has requested a publication ban on his name at an upcoming independent public board of inquiry by the Human Rights Commission.

The worker alleges racial discrimination by his employer and does not wish to be identified by the media.

The board of inquiry, scheduled for June 2-17, 2014, in Halifax, will consider whether the employee was discriminated against.

The publication ban application is being heard by board chair Lynn Connors on Friday, Sept. 27, at 9 a.m. at the Atlantic School of Theology, 624 Franklin St., Halifax. Submissions from media should be made at that time. Written submissions should be provided to the board chair before Sept. 3 and sent to Lynn Connors, Waterbury Newton, 469 Main St., P.O. Box 98, Kentville, N.S., B4N 3V9 or by e-mail at lconnors@wnns.ca.
