NS News: RCMP investigate Assault with a Weapon, Wilmot, N.S.

Annapolis County RCMP have arrested a man in relation to an Assault with a Weapon incident that occurred in Wilmot earlier this morning.

At approximately 7:30 a.m., Annapolis County RCMP responded to an incident that occurred at a nursing home in Wilmot.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly grabbed the victim at her workplace and threatened to hurt her. The 52-year-old victim was able to get away and called police. The suspect then fled from the scene in a vehicle.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., the 54-year-old suspect was arrested in Berwick without incident. He remains in custody at this time. The 52-year-old victim from Coldbrook was not hurt. The victim and suspect are known to each other, this was not a random act.

The investigation is continuing and charges are pending against the Berwick man.
