RCMP are investigating a stabbing incident that occurred in Ingonish.

Early this morning, 1:48 a.m., Ingonish RCMP responded to a report of three people stabbed on the Cabot Trail near Ingonish Beach.

There was a house party and a group of uninvited people showed up. A fight broke out and three males, ages 18, 19 and 20, were sent to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital to be treated for their injuries. Two males are believed to be in critical condition and may be transported to Halifax. The unknown suspects fled the scene.

Police continue to investigate. The Northeast Nova Major Crimes Unit has been brought in to assist with the investigation.
