Lunenburg County District RCMP responded to a three vehicle collision that sent three people to hospital.
At approximately 7:15 p.m this evening, Lunenburg County District RCMP and EHS responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 3 involving two motorcycles and a car.
Preliminary investigation revealed that two individuals riding a motorcycle eastbound on Highway 3 collided with a vehicle stopped ahead of them. Upon impact, the motorcycle landed in the path of an oncoming westbound motorcycle which caused a second collision. The lone rider, a 74-year-old man from Petite-Riviere, sustained moderate injuries. All three riders were transported to the South Shore Regional Hospital by EHS with moderate to serious injuries. The rider of the eastbound motorcycle was then airlifted to the QEII in Halifax. The driver of the car was not hurt.
The investigation into this collision is continuing.
