RCMP are currently on scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 125 that killed a 53-year-old woman from Florence, Nova Scotia.
On July 30th, 2013, at approximately 2:27 p.m.
, Cape Breton RCMP Traffic Services, assisted by Cape Breton Regional Police, responded to a motor vehicle collision between Exit 1 and 2 near North Sydney. The cyclist was killed when she was struck by another vehicle coming from behind.
RCMP is advising that one of the two westbound lanes has reopened to traffic between exits 1 and 2. The two lanes will reopen in approximately one hour.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation. Police are still advising motorists to expect delays for the next hour.
