RCMP have arrested a man after he tried to run and hide from the police.

Early this morning, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Pictou County RCMP responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on East River East Side Road.

The vehicle was reported to have gone off the road, collided with an outdoor gazebo and several people were seen fleeing on foot.

Officers patrolled the area and located a male hiding in the bushes. Investigation revealed that this was the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash. A 21-year-old man from Hillside was arrested at the scene for Impaired Driving and charges are pending. There were no injuries reported and damage to the vehicle was minor.
